    Daniels, Temporal Agent

This Card-Review article was written by Nathan Miracle and was published first on "Decipher's Website (decipher.com)" at Mar 7th, 2006.

At first glance, Daniels, Temporal Agent may seem to be a weaker version of Daniels, Temporal Enforcerimage. After all, he has two fewer skills, a drawback for an ability and can only play at a single headquarters. So why would anyone want to use the new version of Daniels?

Despite his obvious drawbacks, the new Daniels has some great advantages. First and foremost, he costs a mere one counter, as opposed to the three required for Temporal Enforcer. Since only two other personnel in the Starfleet affiliation match Daniels's low cost, those extra counters will come in handy. But perhaps the more important advantage comes in Temporal Agent's affiliation. As a Starfleet personnel, this version of Daniels can staff either Shuttlepod One or Shuttlepod Two by himself, and counts toward the requirements for Starfleet-related cards, such as Remarkable Regenerationimage.

Of course, Daniels has always been something of an outsider in the Enterprise time period. His future icon makes him the only non-Past personnel in the Starfleet affiliation. It may seem like a small difference, but make sure to pay attention when you play cards like The Edge of Foreverimage! Daniels joins Phlox and T'Pol as one of the few non-Human personnel in Starfleet, since Alien/Human is an entirely different species than Human. He might bring up some Racial Tensions, but keep in mind he will also help boost the attributes on Enterprise, Finally Ready to Swimimage.
