1st Rule of Acquisition

"Once you have their money, you never give it back."

For the Ferengi, this Rule is a very important tenet meaning "no refunds at all costs." However, this rule says nothing about leaving YOUR money in the hands of others once they have it. And this Event card can help your Ferengi to do just that. By this Rule, any Gold-Pressed Latinum that you've used and discarded become valid targets whenever you are allowed to download it. Instead of searching through the deck or Q’s Tent for a fresh batch, you get to reach into your discard pile and recycle some of the money you've already spent. Any other affiliation can make use of this function as well, just so long as it is played on a freighter or transport.

That, of course, is only half the card. The second function, usable only by the Ferengi and once per game, lets you download to your hand any one Ferengi V.I.P. and/or one Gold-Pressed Latinum. This grants you easy access to a Nagus if you want one, or perhaps some other V.I.P. more suited to your nefarious schemes. The Gold-Pressed Latinum download gets your palms greased early enough to be able to get your deck's commercial infrastructure going quickly. Perhaps you'll need it for your Scepter of the Grand Nagus, The Ferengi Rules of Acquisition, a hand weapon or some other useful piece of Equipment. In any case, this Rule is invaluable help to any Ferengi deck to kick-start the game and to get things rolling fast.

Combo:

• 1st Rule of Acquisition (seeded) + Grand Nagus Gint + The Ferengi Rules of Acquisition + Scepter of the Grand Nagus + Gold-Pressed Latinum + Tower of Commerce: Downloading Gint and the Latinum to hand, you can then play Gint for free to the Tower, and use your card play for the Latinum. Gint can Special Download The Ferengi Rules of Acquisition and then discard the Latinum to get the Scepter! All in one turn!
