HQ: Orbital Weapons PlatformIncident Plays on any homeworld. Each time opponent initiates battle here against your ship or facility matching this homeworld's affiliation, just after it is targeted each of your Orbital Weapons Platforms here may "fire upon" an opposing ship present. Each ship fired upon is damaged = Characteristics: HQ card. Rule hint for this cardThis card has an clarification: This incident may “fire upon” a target even if you do not have damage markers to place on it (you may not apply rotation damage instead), and may still exclude the target from battle. It may “fire upon” an opposing ship that was not participating in the attack; that ship becomes involved in the battle (and is therefore “stopped” afterward). Ferengi, Romulans, Cardassians, lend me your lobes. I come not to praise the armada, but to bury it.
Too long we have suffered from the tyranny of the armada. It came under many names - Pire for Hire, Kurlan Naiskos
, Gowron of Borg
- but the result was always the same: our facilities laid in ruins, our precious personnel trapped in our hands, unable to solve plagues or attend diplomatic conferences.
But at last, there is hope for us! Our homeworlds may now harness these powerful weapons to defend our ships and facilities from the rampaging hordes. No matter how mighty they are, these defenses will damage their ships, and stop them from attacking us directly. These defenders of mission solving can also be used in multiples, destroying ships by the handfuls.
These devices can be procured easily in several ways. Our headquarters can produce them easily. As well, our ally, the great and powerful Q can bring one to our aid at a moment's notice. Finally, if we are prepared in advance, we can turn the tables on any would-be attacker.
Revenge is glorious... ;)
Combos:
- HQ: Orbital Weapons Platform + Chamber of Ministers
+ Deep Space 9 / Terok Nor
(at Alter Records
): While the platform can only play at a homeworld, it will protect all ships and facilities matching it, protecting DS9 as well. Also, they can play for free using the Chamber of Ministers, saving your card play for actual people. - HQ: Orbital Weapons Platform + Q the Referee
: Since it's a card, you can suspend play to download one in a pinch. - HQ: Orbital Weapons Platform + Defend Homeworld
: More is definitely better - your opponent may not survive to attack...
