Pel has a lot more going for her than first meets the eye. At first glance, she seems to have skills that a plethora of other Ferengi have. But as any good engineer could tell you, redundancy in the system is a necessary thing. Diplomacy and Biology are both necessary skills in any deck, as without them wall dilemmas such as Shaka and Flaxian Assassin can keep you from completing your missions, and Q-Net can keep you from going anywhere at all. And Acquisition seems common enough among Ferengi, but here it helps to boost Pel into even greater usefulness. Aside from allowing her to exchange Latinum for equipment on a one-for-one basis, her Acquisition also lets her trade in Latinum for points at the Credit Exchange, report Small Cloaking Devices for free, and be targeted by the 34th Rule (War is good for business), 47th Rule (Don't trust a man wearing a better suit your own) and 75th Rule of Acquisition (Home is where the heart is, but the stars are made of latinum). She also has a special skill that can keep her out of the hands of dilemmas such as Strange Bedfellows, Brief Romance, Female’s Love Interest, Parallel Romance, Kidnapped, etc.

But her skill box is not the only place to look for reasons to use her. In her lore, she is identified as a waiter. This means that she can be downloaded or played for free to Quark’s Bar as well as provide an extra body for the 211th Rule of Acquisition (Employees are the rungs on the ladder of success - don't hesitate to step on them). She also mentions Quark in her lore so that if they are present together you can play the 6th Rule of Acquisition (Never allow family to stand in the way of opportunity) to place her at the bottom of your draw deck for some card draws or a bit of Gold-Pressed Latinum.

    Combos:

    • Pel + Quark + Tulaberry Wine Negotiations: 45 points for two personnel! Now that's hard to pass up!
    • The above + 75th Rule of Acquisition: 55 points for two personnel!?! Hummuna hummuna hummuna hummuna (drool)
