While you may expose an infiltrator by bringing him face-to-face with the persona he's impersonating, that may be impossible if you don't happen to have Lovok, for example, in your Romulan deck to confront the impostor. Worse, your opponent may be using an impersonator with a different infiltration icon from your affiliation, by seeding a Memory Wipe to make your cards compatible with all affiliations. But by having your own shape-shifter available (Anya and Salia can work with everyone but Borg), you can play Caught Red-Handed to expose any infiltrator.
Even if you aren't being infiltrated, this interrupt can be handy to prevent your opponent from morphing a changeling with one of several interrupts or from turning a universal Founder into something more sinister from his hand. And if your opponent isn't even playing Dominion, it can nullify a Common Thief, keeping your opponent from killing one of your personnel if you don't have any equipment to lose.
Combo:
- Caught Red-Handed + opponent's You Dirty Rat: You needed your Founder back so you thought you'd just discard that You Dirty Rat? Not this turn...
