The companion to the Primary Supply Depot, which is a seed-only outpost restricted to the Gamma Quadrant, the Remote Supply Depot may only be built (not seeded), at any location with a Dominion affiliation icon. Like all outposts which may be built during the game, it may be built in either quadrant, but because it is native to the Alpha Quadrant, Gamma personnel and ships may not report there unless another card allows it.
If you can't report personnel or repair ships there, what good is it? If you build it in the Alpha Quadrant, it gives you a place to report Alpha-native Non-Aligned personnel and ships to supplement your Dominion cards. Even more important, equipment cards are native to all quadrants, so you can report them to a Remote Supply Depot, and here they may report for free. And two equipment cards in particular are vital to the Dominion: Ketracel-White and Jem’Hadar Birthing Chamber. Build one or more strategically located Remote Supply Depots in the Alpha Quadrant, and you need never return to the Gamma Quadrant to renew your Ketracel-White supply - they both play for free and can be reset here. Add a Jem'Hadar Birthing Chamber or two, and you avoid the quadrant reporting restrictions by reporting Young Jem'Hadar to the Birthing Chambers and then replacing them with other universal Jem'Hadar from your hand.
Two objectives even allow downloading of the depot, so you don't even have to worry about drawing it in time.
