    First officer's log: As an intellectual exercise, I have conducted a self-analysis of my proficiency in a wide variety of areas. I possess an unusually high number of skills (eight), all with a high degree of usefulness.

    As first OFFICER of the Enterprise, I possess the ability both to command and to lead my fellow crew members into battle. While my Vulcan heritage provides me with high strength for personal combat, I prefer the application of the efficient and non-violent Vulcan Nerve Pinch, which I am proficient in performing even without prior preparation. My musical abilities, while seemingly more frivolous, may in fact assist us in destroying the odd Crystalline Entity or in making use of an occasional musical artifact.

    I perform double duty as the Enterprise's science officer. My SCIENCE expertise has become of increasing importance for application of the Scientific Method in completing missions. It is a distinct advantage that I will lose only half of that expertise upon infection with a variety of the Psi 2000 virus or a chance encounter with a pugnacious omnipotent being. My knowledge of Exobiology is useful when Dr. McCoy is unavailable, and Computer Skill is a necessity when Access is Denied to information vital to our mission.

    In addition, I am proficient with all current (23rd-century) Starfleet portable equipment, from the standard communicator and Type II phaser to all varieties of tricorders. Thus I am able to augment my innate abilities with extended knowledge of Exobiology, additional scientific fields such as Biology, Geology, and Physics, adequate MEDICAL and ENGINEER skills (though admittedly not at the levels exhibited by Dr. McCoy or Mr. Scott), and even rudimentary SECURITY skills. Should I still fail to possess the knowledge to overcome the many dilemmas we face daily, I can consult my colleagues via communicator or acquire the necessary skills temporarily via Mindmeld.

    I will make one last note of a curious observation: when with my good friend Jim, I find that both of us seem to experience sensations of heightened loyalty and increased levels of mental activity and physical stamina.

    Most illogical... but fascinating.

     

    Combos:

    • Mr. Spock + Captain Kirk: Together, our attributes become 10-12-11 and 10-11-10. I cannot imagine a more logical combination.
    • Mr. Spock + Classic Tricorder + Classic Medical Tricorder: Proper application of the Scientific Method requires both MEDICAL and 3 SCIENCE skills. With both tricorders, I can efficiently supply all required skills without additional assistance.
